May

It's been a really eventful and busy month. As we turn the corner on spring and get ready for the next season, I'm thinking about all the things that I have to do over the summer. I wasn't sure what the next post was going to be but I didn't want to miss out on a May post, so I'll recap.

As pesach ended we were spit out into May at full speed. Work took over a large portion of my life. Our annual huge event happened last week and it was all-encompassing until about a minute ago. Beside for that there were also appointments and things to think about and groceries needed to be purchased and dinners needed to be somehow thought about, cooked, and eaten. Throughout all of it we were wrapping our minds around a big deal that still doesn't seem real. This week we went in for a 20 week ultrasound. It still seems surreal and scary to talk about but we couldn't be more thrilled. I'm not carrying big so besides for the people we've told no one really knows yet. I'm hesitant to share the news though I'm not entirely sure why. I kept writing since the transfer but have been hesitant to post about it on an infertility blog. It's partially sensitivity for others who may find the news difficult, partially disbelief about the content of the posts. Once I figure out a medium I'm comfortable with I'll share what I have.

That's it for May. Shabbat shalom!

  1. Yay!!! So exciting! You post on such interesting topics and I guess I list the thread of that transfer back a ways. Can’t believe you haven’t been posting on every development but I guess you said you’ve been writing elsewhere. I’m 20 weeks, too! 😃

  3. CONGRATULATIONS! I am over the moon to read about your pregnancy. I was hoping that your long-ish silence would end with an announcement.

Hey, it's just my opinion, but I don't think you need feel any hesitation to share happy news, in whatever level of detail you want, on your blog. Grief is real, but so is joy. Acknowledge both in life with a full heart. Best wishes for a happy, healthy and uneventful 20 more weeks.

And when your river runs high
Let it flow, let it flow
It's your time with life to let your garden grow
And when your burden gets rough
Let it go, let it go
Let your strength return on every breeze that blows

And when your river runs dry and your halo is torn
Drink the living stream in the calm of the dawn
And may you travel in peace
And may your children be blessed
And your mind released and your soul caressed.

  5. I am so so thrilled to read this and wish you only the best for the weeks to come. I also felt uncomfortable sharing our news, and would have loved to deliver the baby before telling anyone. But my husband couldn’t wait and so we did tell people after the 20 week scan and looking back now, without my panic and hormones,I’m so glad we did share the journey with our family and friends (we literally told no one until 20 weeks). But selfishly of course I want to know everything about how you are doing and what you are feeling and thinking so I really do hope you blog about it! Mabel tov!

  9. Aaaaaaaah! So thrilled to read this!!! Please don't be shy about posting. I know exactly how it feels to feel like you've been left behind for years and then feel shy / unworthy / like an imposter once it's finally your turn. But even in my worst times I was happy to hear about someone who was in it for a very long time bust out with good news. (Less happy if someone just slipped and fell and got pregnant on accident. Again.) It gave me hope.

Mazel tov times a million. When you fight so hard for it, it's that much more special.

  10. Hey girl! Amazing news! I'm so excited for you!!! I've pretty much dropped out of the blogosphere, but have to check in your blog every once in a while. I'm actually 26 weeks pregnant tomorrow....we are so close in timing! I would love to see your pregnancy posts, but no worries if it's too difficult to post them. I'm all about moving forward right now, and it feels so good!
